Janine Antoni (Slumber)

So in class today we had to present our assigned artists, and mine was Janine Antoni. Her specific artwork that I had to research was named Slumber. Janine is a contemporary artist who uses her mind and body as her strongest tool. In her work Slumber her installation is in itself an artist performance. For 28 days she creates and sleeps in the Gallery. She connects herself to an EEG machine that records her dreams, and during the day she replicates her brain movements in a loom weaving. She not only creates this weaving, but she uses her night gown that she sleeps in to weave into the loom. Every night that she stays in the gallery she also sleeps with the blanket she creates. She is a very on edge artist that does many works that challenge you to think about it. You should check her out!
