I guess we all have pretty unique stories, and I am no exeption to that. I am a daughter, sister, aunt, niece, best friend, and girl friend. I would have to say that I wouldn’t trade any of those titles for the world. I am the offspring of two lovers in a rock-n-roll band, who are still happily married. My mom is a music teacher now and teaches voice and piano lessons. My dad owns his own music store called Replay Music, and a recording studio called Prime Time. The great thing is is that on weekends they still have a band and will go play for clubs. I think thats pretty sweet. I have two sisters, and I swear they’re about as opposite as you can get for being in the same family. My oldest sister is named Shannon, and she now resides in a quaint little town in Colorado. Is is married and just had twins in 2012. Their names are Sierra and Eli (they are the cutest things that has ever entered Terra.) She is super athletic.. I am pretty sure she could whip me at anything active. Then there is my other sister who lives in California..her name is Bria..but I call her Brii Bee. She is the networking, partying, actress/singer/contortionest. She is my crazy side. I love both of my sisters so much.
Now lets talk about my friends! THEY ARE ALL SO QUIRKY AND LOVEABLE. I couldn’t live without any of them. I have a vast group of best friends. First is Faith.. she has been there for me since kindergarden.. she is now studying at Akron University. She is my party friend.. I could call her up at 3 am and say, “Hey girl! lets go on an adventure!” and more than likely she’ll be down ( unless she has work in the morning :P) Then there is Kaitlyn. She is my theater geek. I became friends with her through doing musicals at a local theater in our hometown. Angela is my sassy fashion forward friend. Needless to say we bonded over Orlando Bloom. Monica is my little country-rocker. I think she is such her own character, and doesn’t really care what others do. If she likes something, she doesn’t need someone else’s approval which I think is pretty cool. Zoe is my friend that I “Geek” with, and share my love of the arts with. I swear that I wouldn’t be the same without her, and I’ve only been friends with her for a few months. Tinah is a newer best friend I’ve made quite recently in 2013. She is the most adorable person ever. Some of the sounds she makes are just too cute to handle. I am so lucky to have these amazing people in my life. Thy are my chosen family, and they all mean so much to me.
I recently lost two of my very close friends in a shooting on August 7, 2011. One was my friend Autumn Johnson. She was the fiestiest of them all. We were actually in a fight when her short life came to an end, which is something that I will have to live with every day of my life. I know now though, that even though I will never be able to say I’m sorry in this life and give her a hug, that is doesn’t take away from the relationship we had before. She once thought that this guy was spreading rumors about me and walked straight up to him at the mall, punched him right in the face, and broke his Ipod. I mean if that doesn’t tell you about out close relationship, I don’t know what will. She tried to teach me how to snowboard, and stuck with me through all the whimpering and stops down the hill. I love her and miss her more than anyone could imagine. My other friend was Amelia Shambaugh. She was a little angel. She was the closest thing I have ever had to a little sister. She was at one with the earth, she walked around without shoes to be closer with nature. She would pick up rocks and just want to keep them because it was a piece of the earth. She stayed the night at my house, and around 3am I just turned to her and was like, “Amelia, you are my pocket acorn..okay? okay!” From that moment on I always called her my pocket acorn. I guess friendships like this don’t die when our soul moves on. I am sure that one day I will see them again, and be able to tell them all of these things. I will never forget them, they live on in my heart.
I have a passion for the fine arts. I think that creating is the most unique thing that a person can do, which is pretty contradictory because nearly all humans create in one way or another. I use art to describe all that is around me, or circling in my head. I think that sharing your art or creating with someone is the most intimate thing you can do. I really look up to those people who sit on the street corner with their instrument playing away. Its incredible that they may have nothing else left in this world than there passion, and its the last thing they are willing to give up. I really do think that that is respectable. I feel the same way about my brushes and paint. Once you learn to create with something it becomes park of your soul.
